Level 4

Answer concrete questions about AI tool use and web deployment using Cloudflare, VPS and Vercel.

Who can apply

Open to applicants aged 14 and over.

Screen-sharing interview

The examiner checks the computer before asking questions. Respond immediately and complete the requested tasks promptly.

  1. In Zoom, share your entire screen, not just a window or tab.
  2. Give the examiner of the shared computer. They first check the ’s display settings to confirm that no additional monitor is connected.
  3. After the check, answer questions and perform tasks yourself on the shared screen. Using the tools being tested is part of the interview; secretly outsourcing answers to or another person is cheating.

Level 4: Questions cover web using , and .

Required programming language

Required at every level, from Level 5 to Level 1.

Shell Scripting

The base language for running the computers that build and run .

This certificate requires at every level, from 5 to 1. Building an AI from scratch — fetching , running , moving results and putting a on a — usually happens on the , and whatever language the model is written in, the runs it, joins the pieces and the work. (Some models can also be built with visual no-code tools, and just using AI in a or app needs no . This certificate asks for the shell because it tests building and automating.)

Example design question

How would you build an AI for a specified topic? Explain its purpose, data, tools and how you would verify the result.

This is one design-question example. The interview includes several questions and tasks appropriate to each level, not this question alone.

A staircase of three wide steps; on each step the same small box sits on a sheet of paper, and the paper grows from a simple doodle on the lowest step to a numbered plan and then a detailed blueprint on the top step, with a child, a teenager and an adult beside the steps.
The question stays the same; the design under it grows more detailed at each level.

What to learn

  1. Choose tools such as , , , or for a task.
  2. Practise generating video, music and voices with suitable tools.
  3. Operate tools on the shared screen and explain inputs, settings and results.

How you are marked

  • Was the tool appropriate for the task?
  • Could the candidate complete the requested themselves?
  • Could they evaluate the result and explain concrete settings?

Exam format

There is no written exam and no practical exam. A single Zoom interview with the entire decides the level. The examiner asks questions suited to the level, you explain right away in your own words, and follow-up questions check how deep your understanding goes.

Practice interview questions

These 20 questions are examples of what the examiner may ask in the interview. Do not try to hit a single correct word — explain your answer out loud. Open each one to see a sample explanation and a follow-up question. They are not official exam questions.

AI coding tools

  1. 1

Examiner Explain which folder you should be in when you first run or in the , and why.

    Show a sample explanation

Sample explanation Move into the project folder with cd, then start the tool. The treats the folder it starts in as its workspace and reads and edits the files inside, so starting it somewhere broad such as your home folder lets it read or change unrelated files. Check with status that nothing has changed before you start, so you can see exactly what the changed.

Follow-up question If you do not like what the AI changed, how would you undo it with Git?

  2. 2

Examiner Explain the difference between a good and a bad request to a , with an example.

    Show a sample explanation

Sample explanation A good request says what to do, where, and how to check it. Instead of "fix it", write "Nothing happens when I press the login button. Look at login.js, find the cause, fix it, then run the tests and show me the result" — the symptom, the scope and when the job counts as done. Ask for a plan first on big jobs and split them into small steps.

Follow-up question How would you stop the from carrying out its plan straight away?

  3. 3

Examiner Explain what a 's (approval) settings are and why you keep them narrow at first.

    Show a sample explanation

Sample explanation Permission settings decide whether the asks you every time before it edits files, runs commands or goes online, or does so on its own. At first, let it ask before changes so you see what it is about to do and approve it. Allowing everything is faster, but then hard-to-undo commands such as deleting or can run without asking.

Follow-up question Which commands can you let it run without approval, and which must you always approve yourself?

  4. 4

Examiner Explain what a project instruction file (CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md) is and what you write in it.

    Show a sample explanation

Sample explanation It is a text file in the project folder that the reads every time it starts — the rules of that project. reads CLAUDE.md; and read AGENTS.md. Keep short notes of what you do not want to repeat every time: build and test commands, rules, and things it must not do.

Follow-up question What goes wrong when an instruction file gets too long?

  5. 5

Examiner Explain how you would choose among , and for a task.

    Show a sample explanation

Sample explanation All three are that read a project, edit files and run commands in the . Choose by the subscription and price you already have, the you want (OpenCode can connect models from many providers), the instruction and formats your team uses, and your company's rules. Do not assume one tool is always better; compare them on the same task.

Follow-up question If you gave the same task to two tools, what would you look at to judge them?

Multiple agents and work tools

  1. 6

Examiner Explain what is and how its use differs from a .

    Show a sample explanation

Sample explanation Claude Cowork is a of the for multi-step work that is not programming. You give it a folder and describe the result, such as "put these receipts into a spreadsheet", and it plans the steps and works through them. A coding agent works on project ; Cowork handles office work such as writing documents and sorting files.

Follow-up question What would you check rather than trusting what Cowork produced as it is?

  2. 7

Examiner Explain what is and what it helps with when you run several together.

    Show a sample explanation

Sample explanation Orca is an desktop app for running several coding agents, such as , and , side by side in one window. Each works in its own so their changes do not collide, and you compare the results and pick one. You need your own subscription for each agent.

Follow-up question When two agents did the same job, how would you decide which result to keep?

  3. 8

Examiner Explain what a is and why you use it when several work in one .

    Show a sample explanation

Sample explanation A worktree checks out another of the same repository into a separate folder (git worktree add). Each agent works in its own folder and branch, so they never tangle by editing the same file at once. When they finish, you merge only the branch you chose.

Follow-up question What happens at merge time if two branches changed the same line?

  4. 9

Examiner Explain what an is and how it helps when you repeat the same kind of work.

    Show a sample explanation

Sample explanation A skill bundles how to do a particular job — instructions, and reference material — in one folder. The agent reads the name and description in and loads the skill when it needs it. You no longer rewrite long explanations each time, and the work comes out the same way at the same quality.

Follow-up question What goes wrong when a skill's description is vague?

  5. 10

Examiner Explain the rules to follow when you hand work files to an tool.

    Show a sample explanation

Sample explanation Do not hand over files with passwords, or personal , or keep them outside the work folder. Check your company rules and your plan's terms for where the tool sends data and whether it is used for . A person reviews the output before it goes out.

Follow-up question If you accidentally showed an API key to the AI or pushed it to a , what would you do first?

Video, music and voice generation tools

  1. 11

Examiner Explain what you write in a to get the scene you want from a video generation .

    Show a sample explanation

Sample explanation Be specific about the main character and action, the place and time, the camera movement (moving in, following), the mood and light, and the length and . It rarely comes out right the first time, so make several short clips and choose, and you can give it a picture of the first frame you like to continue from.

Follow-up question If a character's face keeps changing between scenes, how would you keep it consistent?

  2. 12

Examiner Explain what you specify when you make a song with a music generation , and what you check before using the result.

    Show a sample explanation

Sample explanation Specify the genre, mood, tempo, instruments, lyrics (or instrumental) and length. Before using the result in a video or a service, check the tool's terms: whether your plan allows commercial use and who holds the rights.

Follow-up question What is the problem with asking it to make a song "like" a famous singer by name?

  3. 13

Examiner Explain what voice generation () and voice cloning are, and what you must always observe when cloning.

    Show a sample explanation

Sample explanation TTS reads text aloud in a human-sounding voice; voice cloning imitates a particular person's voice from a short recording. Clone a voice only with that person's clear consent, and say that the voice was made by . Deceiving people with someone else's voice can be fraud or defamation.

Follow-up question What would you compare when choosing a voice for your own lesson videos?

  4. 14

Examiner Explain how you would combine generated video, music and voice into one finished piece.

    Show a sample explanation

Sample explanation Write the first and split it into a list of scenes, then make a clip for each scene, have the script read aloud, and make the background music. Match the lengths and beat in an editing tool and add subtitles, then a person watches it all the way through and fixes wrong words and awkward scenes.

Follow-up question How would you quickly find which step needs to be redone?

  5. 15

Examiner Explain why you mark generated work as made by , and where the line with lies.

    Show a sample explanation

Sample explanation So that viewers do not mistake it for a real recording or footage. Making a real person's face or voice without their consent to deceive others is a deepfake and can be a crime. Many require AI-generated content to be labelled.

Follow-up question Does a video with no real people in it still need a ? Give your reasons.

Web deployment

  1. 16

Examiner Explain the difference between a and a site that needs a , and where you would each.

    Show a sample explanation

Sample explanation A static site runs on , , and image files alone, so you just upload the files to a host such as . If you need logins, a or a server , use , which offers server functions, or a that you manage yourself.

Follow-up question Why must you never put a in a static site folder?

  2. 17

Examiner Explain two ways to put a site on .

    Show a sample explanation

Sample explanation One is to upload a folder directly with (npx wrangler pages <folder>); the other is to connect a so every push publishes a new . Either way the site gets an address such as your-project.pages.dev.

Follow-up question What else must you do to use your own ?

  3. 18

Examiner Explain what happens when you connect a to , including .

    Show a sample explanation

Sample explanation Once connected, Vercel builds and publishes the site on every push. The production (usually main) goes to the production address, while other branches and each get their own Preview address, so you can check the page before merging.

Follow-up question If a build fails, where would you look for the cause?

  4. 19

Examiner Explain what a is and the steps to get a site running after you first log in to it with ssh.

    Show a sample explanation

Sample explanation A VPS is a share of a big that acts as your own always-on computer. Connect with ssh user@server-address, update the packages, install a web server (such as ) or , and fetch your with clone and run it. Point your 's A record at the server's , then add an certificate.

Follow-up question What do you gain by logging in with an instead of a password?

  5. 20

Examiner Explain how , and a compare on cost, management work and freedom.

    Show a sample explanation

Sample explanation Cloudflare Pages and Vercel manage the for you, so is easy and small sites can start within the free tier, but you can only run things their way. A VPS costs a monthly fee and you handle updates and yourself, but you can run any . Prices and free tiers change, so check the official pricing pages.

Follow-up question How does each of the three cope when visitors suddenly increase a lot?
