Teleport
Pulling a session into your with /teleport. See what it is, how it works, how it is used and what to watch for, with pictures and examples.
What it is
Teleport moves a session into your own so you can keep working on your computer. When you teleport, checks that you are in the right , fetches and checks out the the cloud session used, and loads the full conversation history. From then on the terminal has its own copy, so new work there stays and does not appear in the cloud session. It is the way back after a task you started on the web or with --cloud is finished.
How it works
-
or stash your local changes
-
Run /teleport or claude --teleport
-
Pick a cloud session from list
-
Continue with its branch and history
How to use it
-
claude --teleportopens a list of your cloud sessions to pick from; add a session to jump straight to one
-
/teleportor/tpopens the same list inside a session that is already running
-
/tasksthentteleport into one of your background sessions
-
On
claude.ai/code, choose Open in, then Terminal — it copies a command that you paste into your terminal
Watch out
Teleport needs a working folder with no uncommitted changes, a checkout of the same repository (not a fork), a branch already pushed to the remote, and the same claude.ai account. It does not work when you sign in with an . It is different from --resume, which only reopens conversations saved on this computer.
